This program is designed for puppies aged 8 weeks to 6 months. However, we can discuss individual needs for slightly older dogs on a case-by-case basis.
What is included in the home visit?
The home visit allows me to meet you and your puppy in a familiar environment. We’ll discuss your goals, assess your puppy’s temperament, and introduce the program structure. It’s also a chance to address any immediate concerns.
How long is each session?
Each session lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the puppy’s focus and energy levels.
Where are the sessions held?
Sessions take place in a local park, a safe public area, or your garden, depending on what works best for you and your puppy.
What topics will the training cover?
We focus on essential skills like basic commands (“sit,” “stay,” “recall”), leash training, socialization, problem-solving (e.g., not jumping, chewing), and building a strong bond with your puppy.
How is this program different from other training programs?
Along with teaching practical skills, I offer support for owners who may feel stressed or overwhelmed by their puppy’s behaviour. I integrate mental health techniques and support to help you navigate the emotional journey of raising a puppy.
How do you handle challenging behaviours?
We address challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement and practical strategies tailored to your puppy’s personality.
What happens if I miss a session?
Missed sessions can be rescheduled based on availability. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to make changes.
How do you track progress during the program?
We’ll review your puppy’s progress at each session and adjust the training plan as needed. You’ll also receive simple exercises to practice at home between sessions.
Can other family members join the training?
Absolutely! Training works best when the whole family is involved. I encourage everyone who interacts with the puppy to participate.
What should I bring to the sessions?
Please bring your puppy’s short and long leash, treats they love in a treat bag, poo bags and their special toy. I’ll provide additional materials as needed.
Do you offer follow-up support after the program?
Yes! I’m available for email check-ins or additional one-on-one sessions if needed. I also provide resources to help you continue your puppy’s training journey.
